Qualities Required To Become Cabin Crew

Qualities Required To Become Cabin Crew

Members of cabin crew have two main roles in their job; these are the safety of all the passengers and delivering great customer service.Cabin crew must have excellent interpersonal skills and these will be assessed throughout the selection process and will play an important part in your overall success.
The main focus of the role of cabin crew will always be on safety. A serious decision to evacuate the aircraft will always rest with the cockpit crew, but the cabin crew have the responsibility to oversee the evacuation and make sure that this is carried out according to the rules and procedures. The key role of cabin crew remains exactly as it always has been, and that is to keep all the passengers safe. The cabin crew are obliged to provide a safety briefing before the flight and to ensure that the passengers pay attention to it. If an emergency situation arises the cabin crew are trained to help the passengers leave the aircraft swiftly and safely.
The cabin crew can make or break the reputation of an airline. They must be well-presented, be professional and make a good impression on passengers to encourage them to us the same airline again in the future. Airline companies know that passengers who experience bad customer service from cabin crew will change the airline they use; it’s as simple as that.

This is why airline companies look for future cabin crew members who go to the assessment and interview with their eyes open to what the role of cabin crew is all about. They will want them to have shown an interest in the airline they have applied to, by knowing some history about the airline and where they fly to and from. They must be people who work well in a group and that have a friendly, confident and caring nature.

CABIN CREW CV IN 5 SIMPLE STEPS.

Building your cabin crew CV is one of the most important steps to consider. Based on how you present it, you may or may not be invited for an interview with the airline.During a Cabin Crew Open Day, the CV is used to screen the applicants. The only thing that the employers have to establish who will be interviewed further is a piece of paper with information on it.
Before we start with the content of the cabin crew CV, we will focus on couple of general rules:
Keep it simple
  • Use no more than two easy to read fonts such as: Arial, Helvetica, Times New Roman or Veranda.
  • Print you resume on plain white paper.
  • Start the CV from a template.
Step 1 – Personal Details
On the top of the page include:
  • full name
  • home address
  • personal email address
  • mobile phone
Step 2 – Professional experience
Start with your latest job and continue in reverse chronological order. Include the volunteer jobs or unpaid internships as well.
  • State Start Date to End Date
If it is the present job, just fill the start date – present.
For all the previous jobs, include the month and year of start and finish.
  • Company name
Use the registered company name
  • Company location
City, Country
  • Job Title
Your official job title
  • Job Description
Step 3 – Education
State the highest level of education only. Any extra certificates can also be listed here.
If you went to college, there is no need to give details about the high school.
Formula:
  • Dates of attendance
  • School name
  • Location
  • Degree obtained

Step 4 – Skills

Listing skills can help you stand out from the crowd. During an Open Day, the assessors quickly scan resumes, so long lists are not likely to get read. Instead, select 5-10 of your strongest, most desirable skills. A short, targeted skills list will be more effective than one that’s long and overwhelming.

Relevant skills for the flight attendant position include:
Adaptability/Flexibility
There are no two flights the same. You constantly deal with new customers, new colleagues and new situations. Show here that you already have the skills to deal with such circumstance.
Positive Attitude/Motivation/Energy/Passion
The people who get hired and the employees who get promoted are the ones with drive and passion, and the ones who demonstrate this enthusiasm through their words and actions.
Willingness to Learn
No matter what your age, no matter how much experience you have, you should always be willing to learn a new skill or technique. The airline world is an ever-changing environment, with new rules and regulation, procedures and manuals being amended very often, so this skill is crucial.
Language Skills
Every language that you master can be a major advantage, especially if the airline has plans of expansion in those countries.
Step 5 – References
Unless you are previously instructed to list the details of your references, this part of your CV should remain open.
If you want to be really prepared, print on a separate page a list of 2 or 3 references with name, company, position and contact email or phone number. If the assessors want to have a list of your references, you may immediately provide them with one a copy.
