A nose wheel of an Indian SpiceJet flight caught fire at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today.
All the 74 passengers and four pilots and crew were evacuated safely
from the Kolkata-bound flight, Wahidur Rahman, deputy director (air
traffic) at the airport, told The Daily Star.
The accident took place when the aircraft of India-based airline was
heading towards runway from taxiway for taking off at 10:40am.
As the fire caught at the aircraft’s nose wheel, the pilot aborted its

the spot and doused the fire.
After visiting the affected aircraft, it seemed to them that bearing of
the wheel might break up causing fire at the wheel, Wahidur also said.
