Over 4-hour delay leaves 125 stranded at Pune airport
As many as 125 passengers of a Delhi-bound Jet Airways flight had to
wait for four-and-a-half-hours at the Pune airport on Friday night.
Flight 9W 372, which was scheduled to depart from Pune at 8.15 pm took
off at 12.45 am. Passengers, meanwhile, said airlines officials kept
them on their toes throughout the night, making ‘piecemeal’
announcements instead of clarifying that there could be a delay of about
four hours.
According to a statement issued by the Jet Airways, air traffic congestion at Delhi airport had led to an hour’s delay in arrivals and departures of all flights passing the national capital. However, no response from the airline, specific to the delay at the Pune airport, has yet been received.
A majority of passengers decided to cancel their tickets after waiting for several hours. Some of the passengers also took to the social media to complain about the “irresponsible and unprofessional” behaviour of the airline staffers.
Prateek Dwivedi, one of the passengers, posted on a social networking site, “What is wrong with your flight, all your flights are getting delayed… Your staff is not informing us the exact reason behind the delay…This is completely unacceptable behaviour.”
